The Boston Red Sox went home winners at Wrigley Field, thanks in large part to starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Yamamoto stifled the Chicago Cubs, enabling Boston to grab the 3-1 win. The win has Boston at 40-59.

The Red Sox got a big at-bat from shortstop Eddys Leonard. For the game, Leonard was 1-3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Boston a 3-1 lead.

"I managed to get ahead of guys and keep them at bay," said Yamamoto.
