Blue Jays Edge Giants, 4-3
|
The Toronto Blue Jays wiggled past the San Francisco Giants, 4-3, in 10 innings at Rogers Centre. The win was highlighted by the performance of Toronto pitcher Jon Gray. Orion Kerkering, 3-2, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. The setback makes San Francisco 51-49.
The Blue Jays got a clutch hit from first baseman Bryce Harper. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Blue Jays.
"I just try to put up zeroes," said Gray, "and let the rest take care of itself."
