5-3 Win for Washington Over Cincinnati
|
The Washington Nationals stopped the Cincinnati Reds, 5-3, at Nationals Park. The Nationals got a big game from Adrian Del Castillo, who went 2 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Brandon Woodruff got the win, improving to 5-7. He worked 7 innings, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. Earning the save was Aroldis Chapman. He's now cashed in 18 of 21 save opportunities.
With Washington leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Del Castillo hit a cutter from Tylor Megill for a 3-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Nationals ahead, 4-0.
"We're not really clicking on anything right now," said Cincinnati manager Brandon Brown.
The 4th-place Reds have dropped 5 straight games.
