Soto Propels Arizona Offense in 10-2 Rout
The Arizona Diamondbacks got their 2025 Major League Baseball season off to a good start, defeating the Chicago Cubs, 10-2. Juan Soto set the pace. He went 4-5 with a triple and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Max Fried earned the win to go to 1-0. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, with no walks and 6 strikeouts in 7 innings of work. Joel Kuhnel recorded his 1st save for Arizona.

In the bottom of the sixth, the Diamondbacks grabbed the lead when Soto hit his 1st triple of the season. The 2-run triple off Joe Musgrove made it 3-2, Arizona.
