Brewers first baseman Miguel Vargas left his imprint on his team's 5-3 win over the New York Yankees. Vargas was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for Milwaukee in the contest. Marcus Stroman earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record is now 1-0. Jose Soriano recorded his 1st save for Milwaukee.

Early in the game, Vargas had a 3-run home run for Milwaukee. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Brewers on top, 3-0.

"The other side took advantage in some key situations," said New York manager Jeremiah Coggins.
