The Arizona Diamondbacks bested the Chicago Cubs by a score of 10-1, with left fielder Jose Altuve getting the main credit. On the day, Altuve was 3-4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Diamondbacks. Arizona pitcher Pablo Lopez earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Jose Berrios suffered the loss. Arizona goes to 3-0.

Ryan Jeffers had a big 2-run double for the Diamondbacks in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Arizona leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from Jose Berrios and swatted a double to center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Diamondbacks ahead, 4-0.

"What a debacle," groaned Chicago manager Garrett Hansford in postgame remarks.
