New York Mets starter Seth Lugo pitched a strong game against the Los Angeles Angels at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, leading the Mets to victory, 5-3. Evan Phillips earned the save, his 1st, for the Mets. The Mets, now 3-0, have stormed out of the gates.

Rhys Hoskins delivered a big hit for New York. The first baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mets ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

Lugo called the win "just what the doctor ordered."
