Cincinnati got a valiant performance from pitcher Jhony Brito, but it wasn't enough to beat the San Francisco Giants. San Francisco won the game, 5-2. Brito threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Louie Varland closed the door for San Francisco, picking up his 1st save of the year. The win has San Francisco at 2-1.

San Francisco used the hitting of Zach Neto to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Giants on top, 3-2. For the game, Neto had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
