Seattle Beats Detroit, 3-0
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Seattle Mariners and the Detroit Tigers, Mitchell Parker was the X factor. The Seattle left-hander spearheaded the 3-0 win. The winner was Parker. He threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Tobias Myers. Felix Bautista earned save number 2.
The Mariners got a big at-bat from second baseman Ketel Marte. For the game, Marte went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Seattle a 2-0 lead.
Detroit manager Eric Dolegowski, after the game, said, "Right now, we're just not getting that big hit."
The win gives Seattle a record of 3-2.
