Blue Jays Lose at Home, 8-2, to Washington
|
Behind the bravura of third baseman Nolan Gorman, the Washington Nationals topped the Toronto Blue Jays by the score of 8-2. Gorman went 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for the Nationals. Washington goes to 3-1 with the win.
In the top of the fifth, Nick Castellanos delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Washington right fielder hit a 2-run single, putting the Nationals in front, 8-2.
"It was a good win," said Washington manager Ryan DePretis. "Not without blemish, but good."
