Oakland Gets 7-2 Win Against Phillies
The Oakland Athletics licked the Philadelphia Phillies, 7-2. Yandy Diaz deserved a big chunk of the credit. The first baseman went 2-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Athletics. The winner was Oakland reliever Joey Cantillo, now 4-5. The loser was Dereck Rodriguez. With the win, the Athletics have a record of 57-40.

Diaz had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 1-0 curveball from Dereck Rodriguez, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Athletics a 4-2 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Diaz.

"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Oakland skipper Scot Hughes.
