The Seattle Mariners downed the Houston Astros, 5-2, the largest share of the credit belonging to center fielder Daulton Varsho. On the day, Varsho slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Mariners. Felix Bautista earned save number 1. The win puts Seattle at 2-2.

The game turned with one out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Varsho hit a 2-run home run off Braxton Ashcraft. It propelled the Mariners into the lead, 3-1.

Seattle manager Jesus Cardiel was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.
